How does this particular knight not ''keep the pawn structure in the spirit of the Sicilian defense''. That is what you imply. Also, the Dragon and some Najdorf variations (especially the ones with Be3 and Be2) do not even play e6, so your statement is not accurate enough imo.

I know you're not being critical, but I still thought I could write a response. It's a forum after all. The way you wrote it down gave me the idea you rejected Ne5 because it was not a pawn move in the structure of the Sicilian defense. Then I simply pointed out that pawn structures in the Sicilian may vary and in the diagram itself I claimed that the move would win the bishop pair. And if the criticism is of the pawn move 3...f6 then why would you quote my example of Ne5?

i agree and i need to tell you a strange couincidence today as i played three games today with all of the people i played used the scholars mate , not that any attempt of them worked and if you get aside the fact i am under 800 ( learned to play proper chess 8 weeks ago ) , it has become very common on lower levels as i see and this makes ches less enjoyable as you get the dejavu all over again 

no problem , i am actually a cold bloded player but have the fischer attitude when i see my oponent do weak or outragous threats

f4 (w) and f5 (b) are like pineapples. Depends on when u pick 'em. Pick them too early ?....they may be too sour. But, given some time ? They get nice and juicy and sweet and all that good stuff.

I agree. It's very annoying when people look for this. 

Especially when you're on tilt. 

A few months ago when I didn't see that tactic quite as clearly in 1 minute games I would run into it and it was very unfortunate, and other cheap tricks like capturing the rook diagonal pawn with a bishop. It can really undermine your skill level and emotionally debt you to losing.

oh how I hate the long diagonals, I have no idea how many times I have lost pieces because of them. 

Whenever anyone mentions play on the long diagonals, I can't help thinking of that famous Smyslov game...

How often do you see an enemy bishop at a8 shut out of play by another Bishop?

I lost to a scholars mate today. (Clearly still a beginner) I thought it was amusing. When you dig in for an afternoon of chess and its all over in 2 minutes. I had to have a laugh.

Another old forum revived? why don't you look at the date of the posts?
