Here are the starting moves of the Scotch Blumenfeld for White, just for clarification:
This is a good opening if your opponent doesn't know it if they do its bad. I fooled many people with it. I am gonna stop tho.
Congrats, you're the first person ever to show me a line in the scotch I didn't think was dog droppings.
If black really knows the line he'll probably do well but looking at the stats it doesn't look like too many black players do. I think you'll do well with this.
Hello,
I am a decent player (1600 USCF) and I am thinking of learning the Scotch Blumenfeld for white. If you don’t mind, I have two questions. First off, is this an appropriate line for someone of my level to be playing? (I have many friends who play it, a lot of whom are higher rated than me). And secondly, is there any good books or print-outs on how to play this line as white?
Thanks for your help,
Ben
