I agree but it's a bit disappointing to see there's 5 new replies to my thread and then this... I was hoping someone could help me with this line, not write cryptic messages.

I don't play either side of the Scotch, but I think 7.
Be2 may be better than 7.Bc4. I think white can't expect to get much in the Scotch, but I think after 7.Be2 he has a slight edge and something to work with. The black queen on f6 seems somewhat misplaced and as black tries to coordinate and finish his development, white may get some initiative. Black could try 7...Qg6 but after 8.00 can he get away with taking the e pawn?! I don't have the inclination to analyze it, but it seems like white would get a real initiative for the pawn.
I can't find this line in my book (by Davies) on e4-e5:
In my experience the computer seems to be OK in evaluating positions in the open games, provided that we're a few moves in. Nonetheless I don't want to trust him alone and I'm asking you, what plan would you follow as Black here?
