wow...? (pushes up glasses) I'm confused?
Sicilian, Four Knights Variation

If you haven't noticed yet, SteelWheels posts a mass of these opening clips. Why, I don't know. Self promotion, a desire for points, whatever. Its along the level of those who go to Wikipedia, copy an opening entry and paste the thing here. Serves no purpose, wastes bandwidth, pushes real questions down the list into obscurity as most people don't go past the first couple pages of posts. So yes, the original post, and my response are simply wastes of time.

Care for a Sicilian game? (",)

No thanks. I only play tournaments and I'm at my limit anyway. Even so I'm experimenting with other than Sicilian these days. MY point is, rather than cut and paste from Wiki or where ever, put up something original or a real question. If you want to C&P openings why not do it in a blog or article rather than clutter the forums? You get very little response to your posting of other people's work as it is.

Others have expressed their appreciation for the posts.
Different strokes for different people, I guess.
I appreciate your suggestions though; and all the best in your non-Sicilian experiments.
Would you take this variation? If so, why?
Four Knights Variation: 4...Nf6 5.Nc3 Nc6
The Four Knights Variation is mainly used as a way of getting into the main line Sveshnikov Variation, reached after 6.Ndb5 d6 7.Bf4 e5 8.Bg5 a6 9.Na3 b5. The point of this move order is to avoid lines such as the Rossolimo Variation (1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5), or 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 e5 6.Nd5 d6 7.Nd5, which are possible in the standard Sveshnikov move order. On the other hand, in the Four Knights move order, White acquires the extra option of 6.Nxc6 bxc6 7.e5 Nd5 8.Ne4, so White is not obliged to enter the Sveshnikov.
If Black is not aiming for the Sveshnikov, the main alternative is to play 6...Bb4 in reply to 6.Ndb5. Then 7.a3 Bxc3+ 8.Nxc3 d5 9.exd5 exd5 leads to a position where Black has given up the two bishops but has active pieces and the possibility of playing ...d5-d4.
