Sicilian Najdorf - 6.Be3 Ng4
I am thinking that 6....Ng4 is rather used to sidestep the English Attack (which usually involves moves like f3, g4 and Qd2 in some order) and to take the game down different paths.
Ng4 is Black trying to force a draw by repetition
What is the answer to it though? Bg5 can be answered by Nf6 causing repetition.

Yeah I mean Bc1 Nf6 Be3 Ng4 and so on...

a solid way to draw for both sides!

It's Bc1 that tries to force draw by repetition. Main line used to be 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6 6.Be3 Ng4 7.Bg5 h6 8.Bh4 g5 9.Bg3 Bg7 10.Be2 h5 with a lot of play for both sides, I don't know current theory.
Since game 6 of the slaughter that was the Shirov - Polgar 1999 match the main line is now 10. h3 : 10. h3 Ne5 11. f3 (or 11. Nf5!? like in the famous Topalov double piece sacrifice, but I guess it has been worked out as a forced draw) Nbc6 12. Bf2 and here nobody seems sure what Black's best move is.
Black has two tries to avoid the repetition : first is 7... Nc6 8. f3 Nf6 9. Be3, but here both 9... d5 and 9... e5 seem to be rather unpleasant for Black. Engines suggest instead 7... Nc6 8. f3 Qb6!? with complications, which looks fine for Black (9. h3 is not even obvious to find).
Tkachev also tried to find a line where the extra move h6 actually hurts Black : 7. Bg5 h6 8. Bc1!? Nf6 9. Bd3 (9. Bc4 being another, older try).
In the Najdorf (after 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 ed4 4.Nd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6) Black can meet 6.Be3 with 6...Ng4 - does anyone know if this line has a name?
