I always play Qd3 and later f5 - not sure why...just feels right for me..

For opening questions, a sequence of moves helps rather than just the position. It seems Qd2 is the better move with Qd3 unable to sustain the attack. In addition Qd2 gives more options.
Example Qd3 line which is currently scoring better that Qd2 in recent years.
