Don’t you ever just want to duke it out with your opponent? Play off ideas like counter attack, tactics and imbalance; it’s the Sicilian spirit.

Will you study every line and how deep  after d6?

White has multiple pet lines and so just wing it and enjoy:

My app must be broken because the O’Kelly line is ahead of the Najdorf?

Do you even play the Sicilian?

Avatar of I_PLAYLIKE_CARUANA

I have been playing sicilian forb2 months now if you are checking my openings online I only have played sicilian with this account and what is this o Kelly I don't know ya dragon and najdorf taimanov and sheshnikov, kalashinikov and Schevenigenn are some popular choices as black against open sicilian

And everybody knows about popularity of najdorf I don't think I need to argue about that and if I need to argue you better improve your chess social knowledge

D6 leads to najdorf your engine showed it that 2 d6 is most popular

No I don't study evry line after d6 but yeah I will cover as much as anish giri can cover in his course of najdorf on chessable

Thank-you; I never claimed to be a techy lol. I learned the Sicilian 20 years ago from a coach and still run the same ideas; which has not gone out of style apparently.

What I am saying:

1. Theory, engine and what GMs do should not be the centre piece of your game. Your losing 55% of the time with the Sicilian?

2. Popular opinion is not dogmatic or best for you and I.

Avatar of I_PLAYLIKE_CARUANA

Popular opinion might not be best for me but my opinion is I don't have problem if I play the toughest openings against e4 and d4 aka the najdorf and grunfeld and lose even 100%of my games

I will keep trying keep playing it and one day I would be able to play najdorf like mvl and grunfeld like swidler at some point of my life and I am gonaa do anything possible to reach that lvl nothing can stop me

And on the other hand if you r not gona try it and keep pla  then you r never gonna learn the najdorf Which mean you can't learn najdorf by playing caro kann

So I leave my fear aside and leave my failures asides as failure is not a permanent result. And one day I can change my result

This is what your attitude should be

Avatar of I_PLAYLIKE_CARUANA

You want to know why I am learning grunfeld and najdorf then I may tell you I played peteoff against e4 and kid against d4 but many people including gowtham chess aka levy rozman told me they r the toughest opening and you should not touch it untill u r 2000

And then I get into the journey of proofing all of them wrong

And that is the base of my opening repetoire I want to learn openings which are tough for people thtas why I play queen gambit and catalan as white

Who don't likes to play easy opening except your mindset is little different

I know that's a pyscho type of attitude but that's what I am thats what makes me different from others

I refered to grunfeld and najdorf when I said the toughest openings said by levy
