Accelerated dragon is when black skips 2..d6, the idea is to save a tempo by later play d5 right away which doesn't always happens. The Maróczy Bind is one way to stop it for white by playing 5 c4. I think the main line goes something like 5..Bg7 6 Be3 Nf6 7 Nc3 after that, I might be wrong.
The Marozcy Bind can be reached from different move orders too and you can sometimes set up maroczy bind from the black side. Its definatley an opening worth studying as the middlegames/endgames can be quite instructive, maybe i should suggest a particular game but any GM games should do the trick!
The accelerated dragon differs mainly from normal dragon because of the ...d6 or ...d5 tempo(as already stated). This doesnt make it better or worse in my opinion so dont be afraid to experiment with both variations. Good luck with everything!
