If one likes the London System as White, is there much carryover to the Slav and Caro-Kann as black? Or am I off base in thinking this way?

Some people say that based on the pyramidal pawn structure, studying the London would help with the Caro and Slav.

I, personally, found that to be wrong. Superficially the pawn structures are somewhat similar, but I found the the development and attacking ideas to be very different from blacks perspective.

So to answer your question I would say no. Though some here would say yes.

At one time, I read that Everyman Chess had a plan to publish a London-Caro-Slav book. Eventually, there was a London book and a Caro-Slav book.

II think the slav and caro are  similar in some aspects, namely the c6 d5 structure, sometimes with e6 later.

Not exactly as the Slav can choose whether or not to develop the c8-bishop and go for a Semi-Slav. Also, the Caro and Slav are at least ambitious (or at least when I play it) except if they wuss out with a QGD Slav because their heads explode when there is something called theory
