Smith-Morra Gambit as Sicilian?

Who cares? It is not about names. It is about understanding the position.
The Morra Gambit can be reached from the Sicilian (e4 c5 d4) or from the Old Benoni (d4 c5 e4).
Do you understand the position? That is what matters. Not the naming or categorizing. I could call it the Crystal Meth Gambit of the Old Benoni and it would not change the fact that you have to understand the gambit and play it properly to succeed.

WOW,,,,,,,,just WOW....does your perpetual state of cantankerous know no bounds???

A little bit funny the evolution of SF's evaluation of the opening moves for the SM. By example, previously d4 and c3 moves were given as "inaccuracies" and now listed as Book. Now, in several lines, Bc4 is given as inaccuracy, as SF prefers B4 instead. I'm thinking as the positive results for the opening are achieved, human intervention changes the early eval. It's difficult to find high level games as the elite players simply decline the gambit and play the Alapin. They understand the dangers, that White with best play can always force the winning back of the pawn. Hence, why play on your heels, forced to defend? It is only the lower rated, that believes a refutation of the SM exists, who greedily snatch the pawn. They happily accept the pawn, and most often unhappily accept their defeat.
But why am I saying this ! as a life long SM player.
Decided to leave the post. As Sicilian players are some of the most stubborn. "How dare anyone gambit a pawn against me ! I am the one attacking. I'll show you ! "
