sodium attack: best opening?
Once wrote an article on Robert Durkin, the author of 1.N-QR3 A New Knightmare. I couldn't find much about the man himself. I did find that copies of his 1st book still exist and I also came across several sources that said the same thing, that it was rumored Durkin was writing a 2nd book on his opening when he passed away.
There were two players named Robert Durkin, who are often confused with one another.
i wrote an article about Milwaukee’s Robert Durkin. An editor for American Chess Magazine is writing about the other—the one who played 1. Na3. That magazine should publish the articles on the two players in the coming months.
Trust, no one knows how to respond to it.
This is the only thing Na3 has going for it. No one knows how to respond to 1. f3 either. Goofy isn't necessarily good. And don't drag up some Magnus Carlsen travesty where he beats a GM with this in a 3 minute game.
It’s playable
Technically, any white move 1 is "playable." Not a resounding endorsement.
