@ Gambit King - I downloaded the pgn. Very nice 'refutation'. Thank you.

Um well,
1.e4 d5 2.d4 is simply the Blackmar-Diemer gambit (more usually arrived at by 1.d4 d5 2.e4). While it may be fun to play, it has quite a bad reputation as being an inferior opening for White.
2.exd4 is definitely White's most serious try for an advantage.
That may HAVE been true--but nowadays people have realised that there is NO refutation to the Blackmar-Diemer--if you have an afternoon and you're bored, read through this intense forum discussion on the Blackmar-Diemer, that ends with many of the most prominent sceptics changing their minds, and those who didn't looking really foolish...

The Gambit King
Wow! That is some very serious, thoughtful and heavy chess discussion. No fluff there. I book marked the link. This will be an outstanding read. I pasted all of it into Microsoft Word - 40,498 words of text! Again, thank you!
The BDG is legit. If you know the lines...live chess here can be tons of fun. I've had some decent success with the Danish Gambit. Heck, I'll play a gambit even if it is iffy. Anytime you can get your opponent out of his comfort zone - watching him burn precious seconds on the clock - well - clock time can prove decisive - at the very least.
Bottom line - Even if I lose do to a fatal blunder, my opening development is far superior and I feel like I have a slight to moderate advantage out of the opening. Now, that is with under 1000 blitz players, who don't castle and who would rather attack prematurely, before their army is ready to do battle.
My absolute favorite move is Re1+, pinning a minor piece to Black's king. That is one less piece that he can bring to the battle.
@ Gambit King - For a reference work on gambits, would Eric Schiller's Gambit Chess Openings be fine? GM Boris Alterman, from ICC, has a video series on gambits and wrote a book titled The Alterman Gambit Guide: White Gambits. The videos are easy to understand.
So I just got back from the state championships, and I tied for third in the u1600!Here was my fourth round game (i think!) with a friend of mine by the name of Dilip. I tried out a new system against his Scandinavian. It should not give black any problems if he is careful, which Dilip ignored (he had never seen this idea before) and got himself into some serious trouble. Here is the game. I was white.
