Struggling with Pirc Defense

Having problems beating the Pirc Defense. Any tips or suggestions 

I have done fairly well with the Austrian attack: 1 e4 d6 2.d4 Nf6 3.Nc3 g6 4.f4 Bg7 5.Nf3,

Like the second poster I like the Austrian Attack but the thing is it can be complex so my suggestion would be to try and rely on move order.

What I mean by this is to try and delay d4 (or even leave it out). The move order I prefer is 1.e4 d6 2.Nc3 which allows plans based upon Be2, h4 & h5 (or Be2 & g4) once g6 and or Nf6 has been p;layed. The idea being that any counter play by Black with c5 is temporally watered down because there is no pawn on d4 yet.  If you don't like such options then a quieter approach with 1.e4 d6 2.Nc3 and Nge2, g3 & Bg2 might be more to ones tastes?

I guess what I am trying to say is if you are struggling with combating the Pirc why would you provide the Black with his ideal set-up to play against?

Not surprised, that defense is crap. I feel sorry for Pirc, a real shame having such a crappy opening named after you, specially when you are actually good at the game.
