He was (From memory) imprisoned for the attempted murder of his mother and after being released (after 20 years) went and killed her.

Oh I didn't see this thread I opened a similar thread. I have much succes with the grob now that i tried it out for fun last few days.
here is one example.
I have a plus score playing the grob in blitz against similar rated opponents, even though I'm very bad at blitz. The grob usually gives nice positions, and most players below master level have no idea how to play against it. Even the "refutation" involves a double edged exchange sac for black, so the grob is a great opening.
