Vienna Gambit! Easy to set up and one pawn down has led to some fast wins
He's asking about piece sacrifices, that is a pawn sacrifice

Last time I checked, a pawn is a piece - just like the Queen, 2 Rooks, 2 Bishops and 2 Knights are pieces - thus logically the only piece you cannot sacrifice is the King.
Asking the best piece sacrifice is a different question that asking the best minor or major piece sacrifice.
I gave the best opening piece sacrifice input, and I stand by it.
This is not how "piece sacrifice" is used in the chess world.
If you start reinventing words, no one will understand you.
This is an old line but still interesting. In about 1977 I played it as white vs NM Marty Applebury. I won but not because of the opening. (Marty blundered after a long struggle where he was better most of the game) Bill

No.
Pawns are "men" or "chessmen", but they have never been considered "pieces".
In the strictest sense, only Bishops and Knights are considered to be "pieces", since you would never use the phrase "winning a piece" if it was the Queen or Rook that was being captured.
