The Bowlder Attack

Why do I see this garbage so often?  I literally see 2. Bc4? as often as I do 2. Nf3 against 1. ...c5.

I don't mind though. I almost always get a good game out of it.

Black goes e6 and then counterattacks fast on the queenside for an advantage. I'm not sure why it's so common on this server, but I see it frequently as well.

I've seen it on other servers as well. It's not jsut chess.com

True, I encountered it over the board a few weeks back and was pleased with the game. 

It just makes no sense to me.  If you look at an opening explorer, Black wins like 61% of games that begin 1. e4 c5 2. Bc4, so you'd think that 1500+ players have some clue that it doesn't work...?
