Yeah you're nowhere near ready to play the Dutch.  In a video on one of his blogs Smirnov goes over an expert's game (an OTB expert) and states that it's too advanced for his level.  The other thing you can learn from that video is that even experts dream of attacks that don't even exists at times!

I agree with the others, if you're just starting to learn chess don't bother playing 1... f5 in response to 1.d4 there are to many traps you can fall into. It can be a solid defense but only if you've put in a lot of time studying it. That being said I do use it occasionally along with white's Bird's Opening 1.f4 since they have similar lines/strategies and tend to do well with them. It does limit you to having to learn less lines/variation as some of the other openings but that's not a good reason to play it.

Anything you want that does not hang material right away is fine at our level, really. I mean it : any of the first 20 legal moves is fine.
