By your powers combined, I am Magnus Carlsen!
I have done some thinking and have made a comparison between the four elements (earth, fire, water, air) and the main openings for Black against 1. e4. Here is what I think:
Earth- Solidity, committing to a central point and maintaining it throughout the game: 1. ... e5.
Fire- Aggressive, like to make games bloody battles, where tactics, attack, and counterattack are the trademark strategy: 1. ... c5.
Water- Deep, plays for a positional game with limited options, not uncontent with a draw: 1. ... e6 or 1. ... c6.
Air- Liberty, exhibits its style with unusual strategies, doesn't like to commit to any particular opening strategy: 1. ... Nf6, 1. ... d6, 1. ... g6, or 1. ... b6.
This is just stuff I came up with, nothing official, for fun. Lemme know what you guys think!
