The French vs KIA is my current problem

^I'm not sure white has any problems after 4. Ngf3 Bc5. 4. Ngf3 is considerably more common than 4. g3, actually. I guess what you're getting at is that if white intends 5. g3 against anything then it can be a problem because Ng4 is coming, but white can play 5. e5 Nfd7 6. d4 Be7 7. Bd3 which is a position that Karjakin has played several times with white. I doubt he would say 4...Bc5 is a problem at all. Committing to g3, meanwhile, arguably makes the idea of dxe4 and e5 much stronger.

Why would you castle so early? White's plan is to attack the kingside and you're just putting your king there? Why? Its like running into the middle of a battlefield.

Yea, who would play the #1 move recommended by Stockfish? Don't insult people when you don't have a clue. The king is safer there than he is in the center, and it brings the rook into the defense.

1.e4 e6 2.d3 d5 3.Nd2 Nf6 4.g3 dxe4 5.dxe4 e5 you can also do this on move 3

I actually play the french and against people who play the KIA always say after the game that they couldn't find a plan because I didn't castle.

Even I, woodpusher-in-chief, know what to do in such situation, so the KIA players you played against were not very serious. #sarcasm

I wish you never play against a decent KIA player given your consideration of the opening.

It's probably more that they couldn't play the typical plan and didn't know what to do otherwise. If Black doesn't castle then White usually should play in the center. This is just basic chess and not complicated theory. At any rate there's nothing wrong with castling either. It's the main line for a reason.

On the Shota game for 35. Re3? e4! Shota blundered. Instead of Re3 he should have played 35. g6
