The Queens Gambit

So I was thinking up chess openings today and this one really hit me hard with the strength of the attack (it makes use of a knight); even though white goes down in material he hopes to get compensation by exploiting blacks lack of a bishop pair and his extremely strong centralized knight.

I note you said that "the knight will almost certainly reach c5" at which point black will simply swap the other Bishop for it. Please play this gambit against me!!!

I dont understanding 4. Qa4????? 5. Bxa4 and black is going to win easily!!!!

This one gave me a good laugh.  The Queen's Gambit!  So now I will lose in the first 10 moves with the King's gambit!

that is manic sacrifice the night will be good but after afew exchaning moves the central night will mean nothing good luck developing it but i think it flawed

And btw i belive  a4 is not good place for a knight in this position because it isnt doing anything there and doesnt have any real prospects there. c3 was a much better square because knight puts more influence on the center and has more squares to go to in the future.Other thing about the bishop pair.In QGD white often has problems developing lightsquare bishop. So exchanging bad bishop for a queen and posting a knight on a not so good square, i would say this is pretty nice deal!

My genius is almost overwhelming sometimes.

You had me until the "incredibly strong knight on the a-file" :)

lol I can see this being another one of those threads lasting about 10 pages where half get the joke, and half react angrily.

ok so to give it a serious spin, are there any proper openings where a piece (not pawn) is gambited?

Yes, I've given that one a few spins around the block. IMAO it should be 4. Nxe5!?

Oh, I agree.  I just thought that the 'agreed' annotation was that it was dubious.

Well yeah, at a very high level perhaps.

Back to the main thread I wonder if anyone is intrested in playing the King's gambit the same way

manic queen, epic sacrifice!

Rounding to c5 is good because a knight does control more squares than a4 right
