Are you nuts, IncrediBill? Has this Rupert Murdock thing unhinged you mind? 3.Qh5# isn't mate at all! Black has 3...Kf9!
The Ruy Lopez: A Winning Line for Black!

I have seen the Ronster variation played by a master.
Who is now only an Expert !! That whole concept is kinda dumm there is a differance between unsound and STUPID this is a waste of time. Let me take this opportunity to remove those annoying RED DELETE boxes from my posts !! CHESS.com IS WHERE THE PRETTY PEOPLE PLAY !!
SUCK- UP

If you look at it carefully and understand the idea behind it, the Ronster variation is not doubtful at all.

I noticed quite quickly that reading these forums was a sure way never to improve, threads like these (in other words, every single thread in the opening forum) just prove my point over and over again.

I appreciate all the support. At last, 3...Ke7 is getting the recognition it deserves. Of course, white can avoid the difficulties that arise after 4.BxN by simply retreating the bishop to a safe square. But then black has 4...f5! resulting in the Schliemann-Ronster variation of the Ruy Lopez. One of my games continued like this:

There is a very good master level game in this Ronster variation where Black won beautifully. I will check my database...

Ups sorry I couldn't find it. It's a game between Alexander Dianchuk and Jacky Chan the drunken master. Anyway, this is the best thread I have ever read. Keep up the good work!

"What is really needed is a interior decorator..."
LOL
Also, this is a very good winning line for black. Bill Gates played it.
Here is another famous Ronster Variation. It clearly demonstrates why he is such a lousy chess player and why he has never been on a date with a girl.
