usually, i always encounter problems in the falkbeer variation, especially in falkbeer, mieses variation whenever black does Bc5

what are some things i can do to prevent against attacks like that, and some general tips?

The Butcher’s Bishop Opening on Chessable I highly recommend.

He leads with Bishop c4 on move 2 which can throw your opponent off.

Depending on what opponent does there are many detailed variations on the Vienna. 👍

basic maneuver is bg2 d3, ne2 0-0 and then h3 and kh2, to prepare f4.

in the early bc5 lines, be on the look out for na4 trapping the bishop if black plays early d6 without a6. if you can swap the knight for bishop ,white should have a pleasant edge, just play patiently and watch out for any counterplay on a2 since axb6 exposes the rook file.

if your king is on h2, be very carefully to not play a move like bg5 and allowing ng5+, snatching your bishop.

Your main counterplay will be a King's indian style attack, but you must try to do without allowing black to bust open the position with d5, so you must have a strong command of that square or the attack will merely overextend you.  Luckily, black doesnt have that much space on the queenside, so you dont have to worry about a queenside space grab like in a KID

in some lines, do consider be3 to trade with the c5 bishop. This doubles your e-pawns but opens up a nice rook file, and now trading on d5 allows white to have a second e pawn to replace the lost one. you can also attempt to put a knight on the great f5 outpost if black does trade. (either via nf3-nh3-nf5, or ne2, g4 ng3 and nf5). You have to make sure though that slight pawn structure damage makes sense in the specific position though.

Hope that helps.
