The open Sicilian is a challenge to you.

No. It's the best scoring variation against the Sicilian at the master level.

How do you score?

Those master cannot help you when your are playing live.

and he never told so

*sigh* you do realise that half your comments arent even relevant but you make them anyway to make your argument sound good

The list is not meant to apply to any specific individual. If we were to make a list based on someone's individual score then it would be different for everyone. The list is based on general, objective quality.

probably badly

anyone takes white here

Maybe the Marozy Bind is more challenging than the Open Sicilian in this case?

d4 would be an inaccuracies. Go ahead and play d4 because you know the Open Sicilian .

Your opening databases and engine use isn’t allowed in live games, very likely most will play d4.

Ilampozhil25

people: " 2 d4 is best vs the french"

chuck: "2 d4 isnt best vs the sicilian, so your point is wrong"

an analogy

AngryPuffer

the french and sicilian are 2 completely different openings

Ilampozhil25

the kan and classical are 2 completely different openings

In this case 3. c4 is better because of the 2. ...a6 move order, but it transposes into an Open Sicilian Maroczy Bind.

AngryPuffer

O´kelly just transposes into kan

Chuck639

I would prefer to play against the Open Sicilian than the Maroczy bind because I like my winning chances.

So your masters database and IM YouTubers aren’t needed. If anything, they can be a bad influence on your chess outlook and improvement.

WINEWar

The majority of grandmasters used a masters database, aka they studied master games, and they became some of the most well known grandmasters too.

Ilampozhil25

that conclusion is based on a bunch of statements that arent even about the thread, meanwhile you ignore every other point or dont answer it properly

an analogy

"Bg5 isn't good against the Kan, so has no value vs the Classical."

"c5 isn't as good against 1. d4, so it has no value or function against 1. e4"

If you guys didn't get the memo: Chuck is a good influence on our chess outlook and improvement. 😀

AngryPuffer

the best move depends on what white played first

ofc 1.c5 is bad agianst 1.d4 but not bad agianst e4

I'm getting tired of this. I think Chuck is either trolling or way too stubborn. We are going round in circles as he repeats the same rhetorical statements and puts himself on a pedestal.

"Don't listen to GMs or IMs! They are a bad influence on your chess! Listen to Chuck!

What GMs and IMs say = bad

What Chuck says = good"

That's all you have to know.

Clearly your routine is working based on your lack of rapid climb.

Let that sink in…..

Quit clowning around. Put a light to your training routine and time management.

According to the Chuck doctrine, they are the same.

Don't worry, I will. With good advice from people more qualified to give it, not you.

But one thing you should remember Chuck, the ultimate clown of this thread is you! 🤡 Everyone is laughing at you because you talk complete nonsense!

If you are going to tell me to focus on chess improvement then maybe that's what you should be doing as well, instead of drivelling absolute nonsense in this thread. I don't mind the free circus act though 🤡

If you spend all this time on YT, worship IM (or go out of your way to hate IM Levy), opening databases, engines, opening studies and stuck at 800, I would think hard about it and make some real changes.

I'm not stuck anywhere, I just need to get better with confidence.

You should never coach anyone with your stupid bs.
