I played the French against Kingscrusher in a London pub. I think he crushed me. We played several blitz games that night and I didn't lose all of them.

That's not true. He has also played the King's Indian and the Queen's Gambit on occasion.

He has written some of the best books on the French, so I would guess he is an expert.

Radjabov gave up on the French in 2004. He used it again in 2012, got blown away, and gave it up again. It's like an addiction.
