I've actually been making my transition from KID to semislav. The transition is in it's early stages.
I actually started playing similar to Slav opening a few months ago and have developed a little unorthodox but nevertheless working line: 1. d4 d5 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 Nf6 4. Bg5 Be7 5. e3 a6?! 6. Bd3 dc 7. B:c4 b5 then Bb7, Rc8, c5 and so on. Kind of like Anti Meran in Slav but without Nd7
Here's a game I won at our first board with the Slav Proper. I have the black pieces, but I removed the names. I'm unrated, but my opponent is a strong class player. Though he made a few mistakes, I feel it is a strong game by me!
Hey all,
I have been playing the KID and the Benoni for a long time but I am really bored with the "fianchetto and go" plan. So I wanna give the Slav a try, but I have no real knowledge of current theory or trends.
Can a brother get a hand?
