aright team caro !, so iv never played correspondence, before i commit, how does this work. does the team all add each other and discuss the moves via vote chess ?
Man, the things that happen when I have to spend a day in the office!
Anyway, the time control is 3 days per move. Each player plays the corresponding player (by board number) on the other team, and has 3 days play once the opponent moves. There is no limit to the number of players on a team, but only 7 will play in a given match. The Team Captain will decide which players play and in what order prior to each match.
I honestly expected it to take some time to fill up all of the rosters, even the Sicilian and e5 teams, but the purpose of this challenge is to show 1. e4 players, as well as those of us who have to play against 1. e4 players (that is, all of us) the full range of common openings. Each of the "Big Four" defenses (as well as the next four, for that matter) represent very different approaches to the center, and with respect to piece development.
Obviously, we can't force anyone to participate, but I think there is much to be gained from playing these kinds of games. It's more than just bragging rights (though those are fun to have, too), everyone involved will be taken out of their normal comfort zone and forced to contend with the unique dynamics of other openings.

Keep the format as it is, the teams will get filled. We're just waiting to see if the minor openings are going to have a say
If the minor openings do play, one of mine will likely transpose to another opening!

There certainly is a lot of transposition potential in the Alekhine
