@mecuelgalapieza Cute name, bad opening. It doesn't stop d4 really - it just encourages White to make a developing move he'd make anyway. 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Qa5 3.Nc3 with d4 next - now what?

I used to play 2.c3 Qa5?! as a Class A player. Even though the queen move makes more sense there, it's also not a great opening either. As Esserman pointed out, 3.d4! dxc3 4.Bd2! is a favorable Morra Gambit for White. Many c3 Sicilian players might not know this, but this is best avoided.

this monguose thing doesnt look too bad. forcing your opponent to play nc3 has its advantages.

Black can play the Pin Variation, where I think the bishop is more useful on the a5-e1 diagonal. It's tricky, but I still don't trust it. If you want to try to exploit the development of the knight on c3 through unorthodox means, I'd look into either this or the Kan.
