I just looked at your home page.  The only reference I see is your status line, which currently reads "not on vacation !!!" and shows it was changed to that 50 minutes ago.

The status line shows whatever you write in it-- it doesn't update on its own depending on whether or not you're actually on vacation.

Is the status line what you were talking about, or is there something else?

Thanx for the heads up. I found out that I will automtically get put on vacation mode if I have a under an hour of time left before I time out, thats wot happened in a tourney game and I was in the clear for a pawn promo,so  lost that one.( AARghh) After joining up one of the member privileges is the"no time out but vacation"( if u will) feature.  I really appreciate your  input, this site is really wonderful, and I know my game has improved.

Regarding the automatic vacation mode that kicks in if you're close to timing out, that will also work automatically in tournament games unless the tournament is specifically a "no vacation" tournament.  All of the official chess.com tournaments allow vacation, but the directors of private tournaments can set a tournament to be "no vacation".  That will be specified in the tournaments settings that you can see before you register for a tournament.

Another thing newer members may not realize is that if you get put on vacation for one game, you are also immediately on vacation for all the rest of your games (except any games that are specifically "no vacation" games-- those clocks will continue to run as normal).  Similarly, when you come off vacation to move in one game, you're now immediately off vacation for all of your games.

I'm glad you're getting good use from the website!
