My recommendation to refute the stafford gambit can be explained when reversing the colors:
This gambit for white is known to be very strong, if not for the refutation with f6, where white only has a few tricks to rely on. If we reverse the colors, with an extra tempo, black barely has any tricks to rely on after f3:
Where white is clearly much better.
