I am playing the vienna gambit, and recently got two games where my opponent played Be7. I would like to know whats the best theoretical responce to that since both games i sacrificed my right to castle and got an uncomfortable position.

I feel like Bc4 is a good move

This sort of thing. May not be THE most accurate moves from both sides but the ideas are solid: develop, don’t push e5 rashly, don’t hang e4 or d4 to tricks, and you’ll be fine with a great space, center, and development advantage.

DO push e5! The opportunity is right there to push your opponent back and dominate the whole board! The engine suggests this line where white gets checked on h4 but has an advantage due to the overwhelming central control and superior development

Wow, I would never consider castling in that line!

If don't push e5 you just get a worse king's gambit. Why play vienna in the first place then?

king's gambit, absolutely perfect setup
vienna, absolutely not a perfect setup
