What are your thoughts on early queen trade openings?

im bad at checkmating opponent so i like to keep queen on the board

Our club had a lecturer visit who told us all to exchange Queens for two seasons to improve our piece play. I have never shied away from the exchange since. Sometimes my opponent is willing to lose time or territory rather than exchange their precious Queen.

Hah! Noted, I’ll make sure I force an early queen trade and a big piece trade off to a rook and pawn endgame in my daily game against you.

Im not sure youll survive the opening though

Good point...

BUT I am still gonna try . Rip my rating pls

don't worry, its not that hard

But it also depends on the situation. Aren't most openings where early queen trades occur usually more drawish? (look at the 80 billion draws in the Berlin). So if you're in a tourny and you only need a draw to finish well, you might prefer an early queen trade and play accordingly.

I'm not very familiar with this 2.Nf3 line in the Caro. Is it more likely to lead to a queen trade than the more usual 2.d4?

queen trades in 2. d4 caro are nonexistent

I'm perfectly happy to exchange queens early on. This may be because I am perfectly happy without a queen, or it may be that I can't use a queen properly, I don't know.

Nope i only trade when needed

I prefer to keep as much wood on the board as possible.

I often answer the French Defense with 2. d3 and 3. Nbd2, just to avoid that Queen-swap.

If you are talking about like a Berlin or something, I think that they work great, but they are the most boring thing ever. I play the Berlin, and I get bored out of my mind, but I usually manage to get a draw at the least.
