the closed may give equality, but do you really enjoy playing those dry bowdlers or vienna setup positions my friend?

@samuelajedrez95

yes, when I crush them and get some easy wins

AngryPuffer

they are hard to crush when white knows what he is doing

AngryPuffer

you also have the g6 variation which delays d5

AngryPuffer

and then you have everything inbetween

some d3-c3 nonsense

some a3-Ba2 stuff

you get alot of knight manuvering

and they wait for you to play d5 so they can block with e5 often

@samuelajedrez95

Why should anyone care? If they want to give me easy equality and a space advantage that's their choice.

There are ways opponent can make the game dry against any variation. If you play the French, you will run up against the Exchange a lot. If you play e5 you can run up against the Four Knights or a million different other options by white.

Caro-Kann is kind of dry and not that interesting to play to begin with. The Pirc you have to deal with having a massive space disadvantage. You need to recognise that the Pirc is something incredibly niche as most people don't enjoy being constantly squeezed.

@AngryPuffer

Like I said, you are just grasping at straws with loads of unthreatening lines. What you are showing is no different from 2. h4 against the Pirc.

SamuelAjedrez95

@AngryPuffer

You are so radically against the Sicilian that you give 2. Bc4 is a reason not to play it. Actual desperation to try to get everyone to play your beloved Pirc which is small fry compared to the Sicilian.

AngryPuffer

seems to offer some good play

the other variation usually ends up like this

where did i say this

SamuelAjedrez95

White gets such an easy game against the Pirc. The Pirc is one of the most fun openings to play against as white. You just get an easy huge centre with d4 and there are a million different effective setups and ways to attack the Pirc.

Playing the Pirc as black is miserable unless you are really booked up and know what you're doing. It's incredibly niche and only for those who accept hypermodern style and a suffocating space disadvantage.

Stop promoting your lesser opening, the Pirc, over a superior opening, the Sicilian. You are the one who is so radically against the Sicilian that you try to get someone to play the Pirc instead.

AngryPuffer

im just saying that the pirc is good

you and your goofy sicilian fan club can continue telling me how its the best opening and that im wrong youre right

MaetsNori

Um ... Isn't AngryPuffer just Sea Turtle's new account?

I'm perplexed. So many new accounts, it's hard to keep track of who's who.

That's what you're doing. You said the Pirc is better to play than the Sicilian and give a bunch of cherrypicked lines as an example and give stupid moves as a reason not to play the Sicilian and then shut your ears and don't listen to any reason.

No, Sea Turtle is better than this.

SamuelAjedrez95

SeaTurtle was one of the disciples that would take over my cause after my death.

SamuelAjedrez95

AngryPuffer is a heretic.
