Be2 blocks the e file.

Bd3 blocks the d file.

Since black is usually attacking the d and e pawns in the french this is important.

I guess you mean Bd3. Yes, Bd3 is a pawn sac line.

 Be3 you have a problem with Qxb2

The other main move is a3 by the way.

I didn't play many time this opening, so I don't know well how it going.

But intuitively, I think that Knight on f3 have huge role on f3. (because of defense d, e pawns.)

so Be2 can't go f3 easily.

I think about Be2-d1-c2 or Be2-f1 (after 0-0, Re1) -g2

It is need to solve d, e pawns problem for activating white bishop.

How do you think?

yes, I mean Bd3, not Be3.

I have question about Bd3.

If don't sac pawn by Bd3-c2 (open d file, mark Nf5), is it bad for white?

I see first time a3 line. I will try.

It can go to d3 later.

Right now, white's pawns are vulnerable, so white has to take some time to defend them.

Be2 is not bad for white, it's the primary move.

The bishop will be bad on c2. The e5 pawn gives white extra space on the kingside, so white will generally want his pieces pointed at the kingside. Black will usually have pressure on the c file, and a bishop on c2 will likely be vulnerable there.
