Oh yeah, I think krammnik played the birds before.
What is the best move after F4 in the bird's opening? (as white)

Nobody plays Bird opening, braw. Not seriously. If a super GM don't play, a patzer don't play.
You have no clue what you are talking about lowly 1600 player.
We have 3 titled players right now playing in 2020's 4th thematic (of 7) at the ICCF. What is that thematic? Bird's Opening! 1.f4, Black to move in every game.
Add to that a thematic From's gambit tournament I am participating in IECG/LSS server... DEouble games of course, same opponents as white and Black.

Curious, how many of those people are playing the lasker’s? (...g5) I’m pretty sure that’s more or less refuted.

Like I said... Lasker and Bauer would be crushed by a modern GM. If nobody has played the Bird for 130 yrs, at WC level... maybe, just maybe, the opening ain't very good.

All 4 of my games as Black have ended up Leningrad with my playing 1...d5, 2...g6, 3...Bg7, 4...Nf6, 5...O-O, and 6...c5.
White? I have a Oranatan-Bird (1.f4 d5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.e3 g6 4.b4), a Classical Bird, a 1...b5, and a From's Gambit with 4...g5.

Sorry, krammnik.

Nobody cares, sir.
Look, someone posted the question and I answered. You and your snide BS remarks are not to be tolerated. Keep it up and I am reporting you.
If you have something USEFUL to say, we will be glad to hear it. If all you are going to do is attack other posters, SHUT UP NOW!

A lot of people know them, and mention them, regardless of their objective strength, though - while your best achievement in your life will be trolling anonymously in chess forums, and desperately seeking attention.
OK, mr. Nobody?

My own high school club's ace (who was about 2000 rated by senior year) played Bird's Opening exclusively, and to excellent effect. Beat a GM with it. It forces black into dynamic play, which is uncomfortable for many.
It doesn't force anything.
Two very lazy and solid ways of meeting 1.f4 without studying much of anything are:
1) a reversed london system
2) as if it's a QGD with 1...d5 followed by Nf6 e6 Be7 0-0
1.f4 isn't bad, but I don't know what the appeal is. Black has many comfortable options and your reward for preparing for all of them is often a dull equal position.

GMs like Larsen and Miles made their careers out of far worse openings, than 1.f4.
I don't know much about Miles, but Larsen was a top 5 player in the world. Like all top GMs, his opening knowledge (and chess knowledge in general) was undoubtedly enormous. He may have been known for creative play, but I'm sure he had many first rate games in standard openings like the Queen's Gambit and Spanish.

Nobody cares, sir.

Maybe if you would quit YELLING like a DUMB pathological BUFOON... you wouldn't get a negative reaction, hmm? Nobody is caring if you play Classical Bird, Orangutang Bird or Dodo Bird... not a great opening. Probably, you like the Grob as well.

There is a famous game where Tony Miles, as Black, beat Anatoli Karpov after 1.e4 a6.

Yes, you are a Nobody. Regardless of the huge ego. A weak IM. Sour. Wasted.
I have found d5 to be a good one. Often with Bg4 early and Nd7 with e5 if possible.
That system is weak, and the e5 gambit is unsound.
1.f4 d5 2.Nf3 Bg4?! 3.e3 Nd7 4.h3! Bxf3 5.Qxf3 and if ...e5, the d-pawn hangs.
Didn’t krammnik play the white side of that once?
