Hey, nice game, I'll take notes on that orangutan idea. However, can you please show the variation? I can't really visualize

 35.Nxc5+ Kc7 36.Qf4+ Kc8 37.Kh2 Rxf1 38.Qxf1 Qxd4 39.Qa6+ Kc7 40.Qxa7+ Kc6 41.Qxb8 Kxc5 42.Qa7+ Kc4 43.Qa4+ Kc3 44.Qa1+ Kc4 45.Qa4+

I have no idea how to put notes as active moves.  Simply copy the moves to notepad or something and make the moves in examine mode if you can't visualize.

Ok, but I'll let you know anyways.

Thanks for the info.  I tried to go back and change that one note, but it won't let me back into the board.

It would take far less for you to set up the position after White 34 in Examine/Analysis mode and play through the few moves than it would for me to re-enter the entire game, unless you know some way to modify rather than delete and re-create.

In the future, as other Bird games finish, I'll try to put in the notes that way.

yea, that's the bad thing. once you press "insert" you can't go back and change it. But if you do the same thing in chesscom's analysis board, and copy the pgn, then you can access the board again. Just found that out.

But why every variations given here are including the move 8.Nxg6? IMHO this move is risky, knowing that it opens the h-file for white. Isn't 8.Ng2 better?

First game from the thematic From at LSS. Weak opponent, 10.e3? was horrible and the rest even worse.

That was painful to watch. Instead of white’s d4, what about Nc3? That’s what stockfish recommends anyway

After 5.Nc3, Black has two good options: The thematic 5...Ng4 (6.g3 h5!), or 5...Nc6 followed by ...Bg4, ...Qd7 etc. The latter may transpose to a well known game between Houdini and Stockfish, played a couple of years ago. Actually this game is a little crap, but that's another story... I have reached the position of the Houdini-Stockfish game in another one which I'm playing as Black, via a different move order.

Hehehe!  Yeah, that was really shotty play by White!

Certainly not memorable, I posted it for the sake of completion...

On 1.f4, if black doesn't play ...e5 you play 1.Nf3.

There are other cases not to play 2.Nf3.  For example, I even have a game on ICCF going on where my opponent played 1...b5.  1.f4 b5 should be first answered with 2.e4 Bb7 3.d3 and then 4.Nf3, 5.g3, 6.Bg2, 7.O-O, and then expand kingside.

Black has also tried a Kingside Benko with 1.f4 g5 and White should take in this case.

Against the "Sicilian", I play 2.Nf3, 3.e4, and 4.Be2, but White can also do 2.e4 and play a Grand Prix Attack.

So 2.Nf3 is not automatic against Non-1...e5.

SNUDOO knows the birds opening really well. I've seen him play it quite often. I would recommend you learn from his games.
