What is the name for this Chess opening and has it ever been played?

Sort:
peternile

I was trying to play the Jerome's Gambit in some games but everybody played Nf6 instead of Bc5 and so I thought of this opening instead:

I tried using some chess sites to see if this has ever been played or named but nowhere I looked did I find anything. Has anybody seen or heard of this opening? I know it is similar to Jerome's Gambit but I was wondering about this opening specifically.

If this opening has never been played or named, I DECLARE IT Jerome's Gambit: Peternile variation!

It has no name because it is total crap and is refuted.  Black is 100% winning after 7...Ke6!!

MyNameIsNotBuddy

No, black should play 7...Ng6 in order to keep the knight.

MyNameIsNotBuddy

Nevermind, Ke6 is better

MyNameIsNotBuddy

I think this opening is definitely best in blitz or bullet.

If in 500 years of chess, no good player has ever played this line, that might tell you something about how good it is

ponz111

But of course this bad line has been played before many times.

mrfreezyiceboy

that opening is just dumb

IT WORKED ON A 30 SECOND BULLET ROUND LOL

Yeah, in 30 second bullet, you could literally play just about anything other than 1.f3 and 2.g4 and get away with it!

pfren

Feel free to play it.

It is equally good to the Jerome gambit.

Both are losing by force.

"Both are losing by force."

Assuming reasonable play by both sides--which is pretty rare

assgatito

It kind of looks like a pozanzi.

if you're 800, yes it's rare

you would think that, but you it is not nearly as hard to get an opening novelty out of a decent opening in master games.

this line however is just garbage
