This is the Petrov defense: Italian variation. It's quite rare to see because Bc4 will be met from Nxe4 or Nc6. The move 3...Bc5 is inferior position for black. After 3...Bc5 the move c3 is a mistake cause allow Nxe4. White should play Nxe5 or d3, or just castle.

I was told it was called the Grilled Liver Opening, but I can't find it in the openings section in Chessmaster. Was the bloke who told me about this opening just talking rubbish? Acording to Chessmaster the best thing for either player is to take the pawn on move 3.
