what should black do if white just pushes e4 pawn forward instead of taking in Scandinavian defense

It’s a mistake, you can transpose into a tempo up caro kann/french with developed bishop. Easiest way to play by far is to push c5, develop your queen’s bishop and play e6 to solidify your d5 pawn. If they ever play d4, take with your c pawn. They will be forced to recapture with the queen and you can win a tempo on her with Nc6

oh you hate that too? huh?

i've tried both the ...Bf5 line recommended by a lousy old 90s book that refused to give theory other than a couple lines and say "no problem for black" when a pawn on e5 (even as white, because it's in my way!) is intolerable. I want to play Nf6!!!!! I don't want to have to wiggle around pawns!

O.K. I removed them from my trainer because I want to STOP playing the scandinavian myself, but I have a book (I don't know how complete it is) for the 2...c5 sicilian advance variation you can study, but it's a move order pain to try and learn.

i'll upload the theory and share it here.
