What's so great about 10. Re1 in the K.I.D.: Mar del Plata?

To try and answer my own question:

-It creates a square for the bishop.

-A knight on f4 is not as threatening as it might look.

:) It seems 10. Rb1 was played in the 1997 game between Kramnik and Kasparov in the game that led to Kasparov abandoning K.I.D.

9...Nh5 is objectively fine for Black but he needs to know a lot of theory to reach a drawish endgame. Nowadays trendy is 9...a5!?

Everybody knows this line for black so I have to play 8 or 9 Be3Cool
