The best openings are gambits; except the Queens Gambit, that's an imposter, it isn't a gambit at all. Of course, in reality it's all a matter of style, to get something in an opening one must give up something else, so there is no "best", just stylistically, what's "best" for you. Be stylish, play gambits. Be the Leopard, not the Jaeckel.
