what's the best continuation to this sicilian opening?

When I play this opening I'm always at a loss as what to do

4... Nxd4 is followed by 5. Qxd4, making it difficult to develop my knight and dark-squared bishop
4... g6 is followed by 5. Nxc6 bxc6 6. Qd4, again making it difficult to develop my knight and dark-squared bishop.
4... d6 seems resonable but I lose tempo.

Aren't Sicilian opening 1. e4 c5  2. Nf3 d6. And then you do Nc3

If you teach me how to make that frame with chess board thingy I can show you.

Or you can just watch:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzydxPgPKzs&feature=player_embedded

Hope I helped :)

Should I just play d5 and wait for white to play Bb5?

Lots of good moves here:

  • ...g6
  • ...e6
  • ...Nf6
  • ...d6
  • ...Qb6
  • ...e5

etc etc

Standard Sicilian theory

i personally would not play 3.D4

i'd play something along the lines of  3.C3-- 3.Nc3---3.Bb5 or even 3.e3 and then fianchetoin the bishop.

I'll give this thread a mild hijacking since I actually would like some serious comments on my Sicilian. I've played this way for a solid ten years now.
