who would be good at these openings?
What's the most symmetrical opening ever.

who would be good at these openings?
idk probably not you. with a name like yours, you would want to kill your opponent with some sharp najdorf or KID

To put my word in, I think symmetrical positions invoke a need for creativity in one of the players, which is how some of the games are typically one-sided. Either that or it's a bland draw. meh
The Petrof isn't symmetrical at all except in the first two moves.
There are lengthy theoretical symmetrical openings in the London system.

A36 English Ultra Symmetrical, the name changes after more moves to A38 English Symmetrical and A39 has 9 moves. Not very popular though, probably for that reason.

Most boring little kid opening ever... Stops getting symmetrical if they know what they're doing unfortunately

When I play the English, I try to aim for that piece formation as white. Just move the rook to b1, or knight to d5, and you have a have what I play.

We must be thankful that this "boring opening" exists, else the following masterpiece would have never been played.
If a game becomes boring, then blame it on the players- not the opening.

Do you know any interesting games featuring the exchange Slav and the exchange French? I'm genuinely curious, as I only hear bad things about those openings

Plenty of them. I repeat: There are boring players, boring openings do not exist.

I use to play exchange Slav as White when my opponent was a stronger player. I'd be glad to get a draw, ecstatic to win, but still expect to lose.
People say it's "drawish". Maybe so, but a stronger player with Black csn create imbalances and it's not always as easy as people say to figure out how to proceed.
People say it's "boring". Maybe at the top level. I'm not at top level, so it's not for me.

Yes in the English Opening are some symmetrical lines.
This looks like a prearranged draw, and not a game played OTB.
