I play najdorf and at club levels the only theoretical knowledge you really need is a basic knowledge of the ideas, theoretical knowledge in the Bg5 line, a way to avoid the english attack, and experience.
Add the cicillian when you keep getting beat by the parham after e5.
Haha, The funny thing is that I just faced a Parham Attack. My opponent didn't know what he/she was doing, though :)
