do you go on youtube and watch different openings/ traps?

there's so much to remember and i always find that no player ever plays the way you think the openings going  to go

well some of us like the game more than others and like to know the history as well as the theory behind the game...im sure everyone respects your opinion but thats just what it is an opinion...you saying that on here is not going to change anyone or accomplish anything so thanks for nothing

I wasn't trying to accomplish anything no hidden agenda just hoping someone could shed some light on what was gained from waffling on and on about chess as i said i wasn't knocking anyone as you say it was just my opinion iwas just hoping some learned person could show me the positive aspect to all this waffle..............oh and by the way i wasn't fishing for snide appreciation !!!!

hey sonny I'm chilled the concept you need to grasp was the nature of my first post try reading it again but a little slower as I said I know this is a chess forum and people talk chess no problem I just wanted an articulate soul to enlighten me as to what positives they got from doing so, obviously you are not that soul no problem put your dummy back in sonny.........oh by while you are accusing me of being slow try brushing up on your grammar its "you are" or you're not your I wouldn't usually mention it but hey !

hi mcmickey I really don't have a problem I was just trying to get an insight into what people gain from talking about openings etc and whether it was thought that this made for a better chess player I don't mind if people talk about it all day its no skin off my nose its just not for me, All i wanted was for an insight into the minds of these learned chess folk what I didn't ask for was the sharp retort I received so all I did was reply to the "thanks for nothing" comment ok my friend

And I will play anybody any time its all a unique learning open to challenges always

Cheers m8y

hi, just watched your game, that was an effective finish, although white could have created a few more chances but did not and paid the penalty.

when i play against e4 as black i generally play e5 and try  to see if i can spring a trap, and if not just do the best i can

If an effective trap presents itself then play it, but you should definitely not be playing for traps. As you progress any cheap wins will dry up and your opponents will find better responses. A chess rule that will serve you well is that you should when analyzing always assume your opponent will reply with the best possible moves...

Yes, talking about openings generally makes for chess improvement, even though it's not the most important area of the game admittedly. It seems quite simple that if one discusses a subject their insight into that subject will improve.

Thank you finally someone with the sense to realise I wasn't having a go for the sake of being vindictive I just wanted to understand what people got from talking chess cheers m8y

I think there is pointless to take care of any advices...everybody should make it's own repertiore, and if you don't have a coach, you shouldn't listen to anybody. Try to search you own way! You can adobt repertiores, but you won't feel yourself comfortably with them, because they are not your own. If you listen to me, you do whatever you want!!!
