Which sicilian variation is this...?

Black's moves are c5, e6, Nc6, a6, b6 or b5, Bb7, Nge7 then Ng6, Rc8....not necessarily in that order.

You can't ask for a "variation" and then give the moves of only one side. If one side is playing the same moves no matter what, it's probably a setup or a system, not a variation. Therefore I have no idea if you're even talking about Open Sicilian or what.

For example if you're talking about the Open Sicilian, then firstly your move order is impossible (1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 e6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nc6 5. Nc3 a6 6. Be2 or something, and then I guess black has to play Nge7 if he's going for your system because "b6 or b5" results in Nxc6). But okay, some players (like five or six tongue.png) have played with Nge7 and b5 there...not nearly enough for it to have a name, at least as far as I can find. 4...Nc6 is the Taimanov Variation, but that's not how it's typically played.

I do know that the original idea of Mark Taimanov when he came up with the line was to play Nge7 as black, but not to play quite like you're describing. His plan was to exchange on d4 and play the other knight to c6.

Jengaias, that's what I was thinking...either Taimanov or Kan...what is the difference between the two and can their be a hybrid?
