Just tried the Birds opening on a chess.com bot and won twice. First time in 11 moves. I like it.
Why play the bird's opening?

Bird is an original, flexible opening. You can continue in a lot of ways depending of what your opponent does but IMO if you want to be flexible and still have the objective advantage play c4 or Nf3 (the latter if you don't want your opponent to push the e pawn 2 squares).
So why to play f4? The same reason people play gibberish, to surprise his opponent.
