After 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.exd5 exd5 all of the pieces and 14 of the original 16 pawns are still on the board. If you want action, you'll get action!
?? White can play the advance, the Tarasch, the classical, why trade pawns always? And also against it, against the Tarrasch they can play closed open, why Rubinstein? With Nf6 they can play Winawer, Classical, why always Rubinstein?
hikaru rated winawer the most trash tier opening along with fools mate
@duntcare, this is simply preparation, no matter where he puts it, the engine says it all. The reason why he put it there is because the french defense is a draw at master level, but at intermediate level, both sides have chances, depends on who knows what to do more, and how to convert
" the french defense is a draw at master level, "
This is nonsense! most of the major openings lead to positions with equal chances if they are played precisely. But "equal chances" is not the same as "a draw!" It's always possible to outplay your opponent from a position with equal chances. In fact, that's why Magnus Carlsen in the world champion
This is simply a metaphor that means what you just said. And *Hikaru* even said that the french defense is like playing for a draw
Who would play something as stupid as the Exchange French? A quick check of the database gives us Carlsen, Kasparov, Kramink, Vachier Lagrave. So, Nakamura, Aronian . . . just a bunch of patzers!
I did not say the exchange french is stupid. Since you are premium member, I will give you the proof out of the mouth of a grandmaster that the exchange french is BORING. https://www.chess.com/lessons/why-simon-loves-the-french/the-exchange-a-k-a-the-groan-variation
And in the description of the video:
What exactly is the Groan variation in the French Exchange? You can count on GM Simon Williams to tell you how this opening got its memorable name. Can anyone spice up this drawish-looking position? The Ginger GM can. After this lesson, you’ll be using the Groan to make your opponent do the same in defeat.
And it is obvious that you did not understand why I created this thread. The reason is that I keep facing those lines 8/10 times which is annoying. Face it let's say 2/10 ok but each time each time.
