You don't really win a rook against the Traxler. It's pretty obvious you have no idea what you're talking about. I'll crush you in blitz if you play the line I think you do.
why do black play the traxler?

The Traxler is probably only worth the hardship in a correspondence game, and even then it's an open question whether it's refuted. I've seen some master level correspondence games that BLACK has won in recent years, so the refutation isn't easy.

anyone else love to see a 1600 rated player get killed in blitz by a gm?
I love to see that.

Show me where I said I can beat a GM if he plays me I only said I have a fair chance if I started being 4-6 points up.. Get your facts right boy

Yes, and everyone assumed that you were talking about the line in question, because nobody realized how far you went off topic.

Skinny is a fool!!!!

why are your guys even arguing about this: put it on houdini, and you'll see after Nxf7, White is up something like 3.20

I would dispute the evaluation. If it were that simple, take the top choice of Houdini every step of the way, publish it here, and watch it get taken apart.

i am using a mac right now, so i cant.
and plus, there has to be a reason why it is not played.
if it is as sound as some people claim in the forum, than more people would play it.

There are many drawbacks. If white is familiar with the lines, there are many draws available. This can eliminate it out-of-hand for many players. But beyond that, there are many places that white can deviate, like move 3 and 4. It takes a LOT of effort to learn and keep up with all the lines (obviously not as big an issue in correspondence), and so seeing this OTB would be rare.

I think there should be an "I challenge you!" right after a persons name in the forum posts.. That way when someone is talking trash, boom challenge! and the game is posted right after conclusion beneath the post.. it would be especially useful in a case like this where legit talk about an open is going on, pick a side settle it!

That is the best Idea ever, now what if one person prefers standard to blitz. How is it decided which to play?

Me 5-6 points up against a GM?? Make a forum bring me a GM tell him to give a rook and a pawn and we shall see what happens
