Will IM pfren ever become a GM?

Don't be hard on the IM. His tips are useful and his jokes are funny.

the hardest part is the Norms. Those GM norms are brutal. You pretty much have to be actively tournament hunting and in your prime to be pulling them to all but those freaks destined for the 2700+ clouds. You also have time limitations on how much time between the norms for it to count.
Age certainly doesnt help.

Nailed it right on the head. The man is salty that his age makes him play at like 1700 level in blitz. his rapid rating is probably only high because he only plays at the longest time controls rapid would allow. Now he has to condescend in the forums to feel good about himself. LOL

Lots of broken hearts left behind here ...
A lot of hate/envy towards a guy who is a tremendous asset in these forums. And a lot of big talk from people who will never get withing sniffing distance of an IM title

Agreed.

ImPren can become GM by winning the World Seniors Championship.
This is true technically. On the other hand, it's a strong tournament and he's now an extremely weak IM with a rating under 2200. His winning chances are practically zero.

Take this as your motivation pfren, prove the naysayers wrong!

I bet pfren will win the World Chess Championship using heavy physical chess pieces weighing from 30 kg (pawn) to 80 kg (king and queen). Excuse my unproportional picture.
For those who insist Chess is a sports, that's how to play chess. XD
