the hardest part is the Norms. Those GM norms are brutal. You pretty much have to be actively tournament hunting and in your prime to be pulling them to all but those freaks destined for the 2700+ clouds. You also have time limitations on how much time between the norms for it to count.
Age certainly doesnt help.

A lot of hate/envy towards a guy who is a tremendous asset in these forums. And a lot of big talk from people who will never get withing sniffing distance of an IM title

Agreed.
I think he can become GM. Janis Klovans did it. I mean I see no reason why others cant become GM.
