Engine evals are inflated as hell lately. no move by White should give a 0.8 edge to black period. Some of the main lines Basman played where as high as -0.55 in blacks favor or so, which i think makes sense. (no worse than a secondary black defense, thats not too terrible).

what about 1.Na3
1.na3 is borderline legit with stuff like 1.na3 e5 2.nc4 or 1.na3 d5 2.c4 or, if nothing else, play it like a KIA, and relocate via na3-c4-d2. It's no good, but it does no permanent damage to your position besides maybe some tempo loss. nh3 is worse than na3.

1. f3 is completely playable. It's a form of the king's indian attack. A bit drawish if anything.
The chess.com engine evals are screwed up. For instance, 1.d4 is +.06 and that changes to +.25 after ...d5, for some weird reason, as if d5 is weaker than other moves, but after white's arguably strongest continuation, 2. c4, white's advantage drops back to +.10. Today I played at least two blitz games that the engine didn't understand at all. The assessment was moving around by half a pawn in all directions for no reason and at least twice the engine was showing two "best moves" with half a pawn eval. difference between them, each time for a sequence of three or four moves.
After 1. f3 ...d5 2. g3 ...e5 3. Nh3 ...Nf6 4. Nn2 ...Bf5 5. Bg2 it's showing white as -1.0.

I am bitter about people that misquote me. You misquote me and truly hope that you suffer physical harm! Some clown in early May 2018 modified a quote of mine from something fully appropriate to complete slander and some moron admin muted me without even looking for the original message (which was message 20 and the misquoted message was message 21, on the next page!) It took a full week and a third party person that both knows me and knows the chief admin (whom I also know, but I was wrongfully muted) to clear up the issue. I was given 3 free months and the one that misquoted me was permanently banned, so just keep that in mind if you are going to misquote Pawnstormer or myself, you risk permanent ban!
I, by the way, now report all people that misquote me! Does not require inappropriate remarks to get reported by me. After that May 2018 incident, I will report anybody that modifies a quote by me. If you post anything that says "Thrillerfan Said", it better damn well be 100% exact what I said!
